2008 recap
Words cannot describe what took place on Thanksgiving in July (especially not the day after TIJ, when words come a bit more slowly than usual). Luckily, we’ve got numbers:

Above all, it’s about the meal
TIJ is only as magical as the thanksgiving meal that is spread out before our hungry eyes. (Ok, it’s also magical because of the guests attending and because of the rediculous stuff that also goes on that day). But the meal itself is always something to behold.

We Have a Permit!
After many weeks and much seeking of approval from the fire department, “risk management,” and the SDPD, the kind City of San Diego has just approved the block party permit for TIJ to be held in the street! Huzzah!
The TIJ Fun Fund has been established!
At the suggestion of our faithful TIJ Treasurer, a paypal account has been set up to accept all contributions to the general over-the-topness of the day. The idea is, the larger we know our budget is, the more ridiculous we can guarantee the day will be. So if you feel like you might be inclined [...]
the turducken has been ordered!
Iowa Meat Farms will officially be hand-crafting our turducken this year. (and, just in case we need it, they will gladly add a second turducken to our order as long as we give them a week’s notice).
